Some pics from camp and around.
So I have been meaning to do a large update for a while about things in camp but today’s news has made it all seem rather irrelevant. I was named in the starting line-up for the tour match on Saturday aginst the local uni side. Now on top of that I have been named as a captain for the first game!!!!
Also named are Joe Lim and David Thode, making 3 out of the four captains Syd Uni players. Its a big thrill and a huge honour even if its only for the one game.
Otherwise today sees the end of full contact two-a-day practices. From now we will be doing skills and walk throughs in preparation for the games.
The last few days have played out as such…
7-9am practise
9-10am brekkie
11am – 12.30pm meetings
1-2pm lunch
3-3.30pm meetings
4-6pm training
7-8pm dinner
8-10pm recovery and free time
Looking forward to a shift in focus and pace leading up to the business end of proceedings
YOU’RE DEAD!!
Promise I will get a good update soon.
I will clarify a bit. This is a poste in the kitchen of the dorm rooms I thought was funny
I have a local mobile number now!
for the locals give me a call on 0755 269 6328 or if you are calling/texting from oz drop the 0 and add +44 ie +44 0755 269 6328.
Give me a call!
After 24 hours on and off planes and a 2 1/2 hour bus ride we have made it here to camp at Loughborough University. We will be staying and playing all our games at the town and we have already had a scout around at Sainsbury’s and through the local shops.
The plane trips were uneventful and I was able to get a bit of sleep one the Hong Kong to London leg. Right now its 8.30pm and I am trying desperately to make it until 10pm to give Kate a call and get on top of time differences.
England reminds me of Australia and I don’t feel uneasy or extremely foreign as I have in the past in Russia and the US.
You will be happy to know that the weather has not disapointed! Gone were the 30+ days of last week, we were welcomed with rain and 12 degrees.
Welcome to my blog for the upcoming tour. I will try to update regularly with pictures and information about the tour.
Leaving tomorrow morning 2.25pm.
It is with very big thanks to Nick and Marianne @ http://www.nickbegetis.com.au who have really helped me make this trip a reality. If you are looking to sell, buy or rent a property give them a call.
